Upcoming Financial Analysis Courses
Sydney & Melbourne | August–November 2025
We've been running these workshops for Australian business owners since 2019, and honestly? The format has changed quite a bit based on what participants actually need. These aren't lecture-heavy sessions where you take notes and leave. You'll work with real financial statements, spot warning signs, and learn what those numbers actually mean for your decisions.
Look—financial analysis sounds dry. And sometimes it is. But knowing whether your business can pay its bills next month, or understanding why your accountant keeps mentioning "current ratio"... that's not dry. That's the difference between making informed decisions and hoping everything works out. We keep groups small (12 people max) because everyone's balance sheet tells a different story.
Liquidity Fundamentals
This two-day course covers what happens when cash flow doesn't match your obligations. We'll look at working capital management, quick ratio analysis, and how to read cash flow statements without falling asleep. Day one is concepts, day two is your own financials—bring them.
- Venue: Sydney CBD Business Centre
- Duration: 9am–4pm both days
- Includes: Course materials, lunch provided
- Prerequisites: Basic bookkeeping knowledge
Advanced Solvency Analysis
Debt-to-equity ratios, interest coverage, times interest earned—this is where you figure out if your business structure can handle growth or if you're overextended. We work through real case studies from Australian SMEs (anonymized, obviously) and discuss what went wrong and what could have been spotted earlier.
- Venue: Melbourne Southbank Training Room
- Duration: Full days with evening Q&A session
- Group work: Collaborative analysis exercises
- Prerequisites: Liquidity Fundamentals or equivalent
I'd been running my retail business for six years without really understanding my own financial position. I knew sales were good, but couldn't explain why cash was always tight. The September 2024 course showed me I was technically liquid but had terrible cash conversion cycles. Three months after applying what I learned, we renegotiated supplier terms and extended our cash runway by 40 days. Not magic—just finally understanding the mechanics.
Additional November Sessions Available
We're adding a third round in November 2025 for anyone who can't make the earlier dates. Same content, different instructors—Lachlan handles November while I'm covering August and September. Course details and registration information will be posted to our learning program page by early June.
